Course Levels

Beginner Level (3-6 months)

  1. Introduction to Flute
  • Holding the flute

  1. Breathing Technique
  • Blowing Techniques

  1. Basic Notes & Scales
  • Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni

  1. Understanding basic of Hindustani Taals
  • Teentaal, Sam, Khali, Matra etc.
  • Verbal Recital of taal with claps

Intermediate Level (6-18 months)

  1. Raga Introduction
  • Basic ragas (Bhoopali, Yaman, Bhimpalasi)
  • Understanding raga structure
  1. Introduction of different taals 
  • Teentaal, Jhaaptaal, Ektaal
  • Dhrut, Ati Dhrut
  1. Techniques
  • Meend (gliding)
  • Gamak (ornamentation)
  • Tan (fast passages)
  1. Compositions
  • Simple bandishes
  • Alaap, Jhala, Tehai, Taans

Advanced Level (2-3 years+)

  1. Advanced Ragas

    • Understanding taal cycles
    • Complex rhythmic patterns
    • Different composition on different taals like Teentaal, Jhaptaal, Rupak, Matta Taal etc

  1. Understating the concept of transposition in flute

Mode Of Flute Learning

Online Class Details

Open to all students

  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Frequency: 4 classes in a month
  • Medium: Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and other platforms
  • ⁠Classes would 1:1
  • A fixed day and time will be assigned for regular classes.
  • This schedule will be followed consistently unless otherwise notified or rescheduled.

In case of a schedule change request from the student’s side:_

  • A minimum of 2 days’ prior notice is required to reschedule a class.
  • If the student fails to provide 2 days’ notice, the particular class will be considered cancelled.
  • Students are required to coordinate with the teacher to schedule an alternate class for the missed session.

Teacher Unavailability Policy

In case the teacher is unavailable due to unavoidable circumstances:

  • An alternative class will be arranged at a mutually convenient time.
  • The rescheduled class will be coordinated between the teacher and student to accommodate both their schedules.
  • Two devices: one for online connection and another for Tabla/Tanpura with Bluetooth speaker
  • Recommended software: iTabla Pro (iOS), iShala (Android)
  • Flute recommendations:

Beginners: C medium

Intermediate: G bass

Advance – E bass

  • Audio/video recording and publishing of class materials strictly prohibited without Panchajanya’s permission.
  • Remuneration needs to be paid in advance and at the beginning (within 1st week) of every month.
  • Please note that all fees paid for the lasses are non-refundable.

OFFLINE CLASS DETAILS

  1. Classes are taken on
  • Saturday 5pm – 10pm(anytime), once a week.
  • Sunday 11am – 2pm(anytime), once a week
  1. The students are required to provide the remuneration in the first week of every month.
  2. Audio/ video recording, publish of any Audio / Video / Text Material thereof is strictly prohibited ( except Teacher’s permission ) and is deemed violation of copyright.
  3. In case of cancellation of classes due to unavoidable circumstances, a substitute class would be arranged in accordance with the schedule of the teacher (if possible)
  4. In case the teacher is out of station for concerts, that particular class would be cancelled. An alternate class might be provided if the availability of the teacher permits.

6. ⁠Any student absent for more than two months is required to pay the admission fee again upon rejoining.

  • Beginners – C scale medium Flute
